Exclusive original pieces of art—wooden snowflakes decorated by 200 children's book illustrators—will be auctioned through eBay during November and December in Robert's Snow: for Cancer's Cure.

This project comes off its debut year with smashing success. Last year's event, with art by notables such as Eric Carle, Ian Falconer, Trina Schart Hyman and Chris Van Allsburg, raised over $100,000 for cancer research at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

On Wednesday evening, September 10, 2003 the RISD/Boston Alumni Club hosted an inspiring evening with outstanding RISD entrepreneurs and business owners from the Boston area. The evening got off to a great start with President Roger Mandle giving a brief opening statement to approximately 90 attendees who came to listen to the stories of eleven alumni panelists. Each panelist discussed how he or she leverages creativity and entrepreneurial spirit to maintain successful businesses during evolving economic times. The panel was moderated by Steve Whitten of the Alumni and Career Services Office. In addition to telling their stories during the panel portion of the evening, each panelist brought samples of work to display and spent time networking with attendees. The Career Services Office also hosted an information table and was available to answer career related questions.
