"I never paint things as they are, only as how I feel about them."
Jack Dickerson turns seemingly minor everyday occurrences into striking moments in time. Drawing on extensive personal experiences, he expresses his own
feelings about what he sees, or about what the feelings he senses.
Jack's "outside-in" paintings (reflections from nature) give full expression to his dynamic impressionist interpretationhis physical brushwork full
of vitality and motion.
Jack's "inside-out" works (reflections from emotion) are bold and vivid renditions of men and women of various races and expressions. These very large
"a la prima" works are not your typical over-the-living-room-couch fare. Rather, they grab youand make you keep thinking about them even after you
stop looking.
Jack Dickerson's paintings are in private collections in Pennsylvania, New York, Rhode Island, and Boston; including the North and South Shore, the
West, and Cape Cod. He has exhibited in Boston and on the South Shoreboth in one-man and group shows. His painting was recognized with first prize at
the South Shore Art Center's Blue Ribbon Show in 2002. He lives in Hingham, MA.
